Flotation Production Line
Forth flotation line is the most widely used method of mineral selection. After being crushed and grinded, the various minerals will be dissociated into monomer particles whose size can meet the requirement of flotation process. Add various floating agents to the grinded ore slurry and then stir them to ensure that the floatability of different mineral particles can be enlarged. The blended ore slurry will be transferred into the floatation cell to stir and charge air. When contact and crashed with bubbles, the mineral particles with good floatability will selectively adhere to the bubbles and be lifted to form the mineralized forth layer which is made up of gas, liquid and solid. Then, with machinery scraping or overflowing from the surface of ore slurry, the mineral forth layer can become ore concentrate after dehydration and dry. The mineral particles that cannot be floated will be discharged together with ore slurry from the bottom of the floatation cell. Floating the useless mineral particle and keeping the useful in the ore slurry is called reverse floatation, such as floating the quartz from the iron ore.
Forth flotation process is suitable for the selection of the mineral particles from 0.5mm to 5μm, and the limitation of the particles is dependent on the ore category. If the particle is smaller than 5μm, a special floatation method must be adopted. For example, the flocculation flotation is the process which uses flocculating agent to make the useful minerals flocculate into larger particle, and then remove the gangue slime and float the grain gangue. Carrier floatation is the process which the suitable mineral particle is the carrier, and makes the superfine mineral particle adhere to the surface of the carrier and float with it. There is oil agglomeration and emulsion floatation which adopt oil to make the superfine mineral particle reunite and the eduction floatation which adopts high temperature chemical reaction to make the metallic minerals in the ore transferred into metal. When choosing forth flotation process to recycle the metallic ions in the aqueous solution, we firstly precipitate them or use ion exchange resin to absorb, and then select the settling or resin particle by floatation.
